Newell Beach Caravan Park and Holiday Units is located only one hour's drive north of Cairns and sits like a jewel in the heart of Douglas Shire and the Daintree. A quick walk across the road from the Caravan Park will have you on the beach at Newell. Newell Beach looks out onto the Coral Sea and the laid back style of the tourist holiday village of Port Douglas and Island Point.

You can also see Low Isles and its lighthouse, which shines like a gem in the sea. Off to the north you can see Snapper Island, a fisherman's playground just off Cape Kimberly and the mouth of the mighty Daintree River.

Newell Beach Caravan Park offers 30 shaded powered sites, most having a concrete block, as well as 5 fully self-contained air-conditioned units with linen provided per double, 1 Overnight Vans, excellent TV & mobile phone reception, salt-water swimming pool, communal BBQ area with TV, free book exchange and a modern amenities block with laundry.

Things to do Report

You can head north to see the Daintree, Cape Tribulation, Bloomfield, Cooktown, & Cape York. Head west and you'll reach Mareeba, Atherton Tablelands, Chillago, Undara lava tubes, Normanton & Karumba.

Go down south to see Kuranda, Cairns, Innisfail, Mission Beach, Dunk Island, Cardwell, Hinchinbrook Island, and Townsville or you can book onto one of the many boat tours to take you out east where you can see the amazing wonders of the Great Barrier Reef.Newell Beach is only 8km north of the township of Mossman which has a large supermarket, chemists, medical clinics, hospital, various shops, the Bowls Club, and Sugar Mill.

We (three friends) stayed at Newell Beach Caravan Park for two nights on an unpowered site. All amenities were suited for everything and the staff are one of the kindest and most helpful I have ever met. This charming place is definately worth staying at when travelling through this beautiful area.

Newell beach Caravapark are a very special,you feel you are one in the family.
They have a very clean and nice pool.
A full kitchen with microvave,bbq area..
Everything are looked after and cared for.
The beautiful beach just crossed the road.
The best fish and chipps next door.
Thank you.
Will be back soon again.

Nice and cosy park, with super clean amenities. The owner was a legend, and he always made time for a chat or to share some local info. In the far back corner we had a view of the mountains behind.

Super quiet! Love this spot. We stayed a week and was left completely alone to enjoy our time. Dog friendly with an amazing dog beach right across the road. Excellent clean bathroom and laundry facilities (laundry takes $1.00 coins only) Thank you so much we will be back.

Lovely camping spot opposite the beach and next to a great little take away shop. Amenities are always spotless and the sites separated by plants. The 5pm evening drinks is friendly and inclusive all around a great place for a getaway.

Nice little park. Beach straight across the road, clean amenities, a pool, takeaway next door, which I didn't use. Great location to Port Douglas & Daintree. Good rate. Definitely recommend

Awesome park. Friendly staff, clean toilets/showers & kitchen area, quiet and right next door to the shop. Stayed here for 4 nights. Loved walking around Newell looking at the beautiful houses and gardens. Just across the road from the beach too. Will stay here again.

Nice little park, bays are a bit tight for larger vans, but ok. Staff are friendly and helpful...allowed us to park ute on another bay to fit. Beach over the road, little takeaway next door and the amenities are good. Overall a nice quiet little spot.
