The Little Vegie Patch
The Little Veggie Patch Co (LVPC) is a business dedicated to helping people grow food and we believe it is something that everyone can do, regardless of your skill-set or space at your disposal. So no matter whether you live in an inner city apartment or a block of land in the sprawling suburbs, LVPC will have you growing your own produce in no time.

Our business began in 2008 as a little company that installed raised garden beds and larger edible gardens in people's homes. Growing food for other people was very much a niche at the time, but one that was expanding alongside the slow food movement and a heightened awareness of the origins of our produce.
Services
Made with sustainably sourced timber, filled with an organic soil mix, they're the perfect infrastructure for growing food at home (or at work). Our curated heirloom seed bundles to suit any season and planting calendar (so you know when to grow them!). Need a small space option for your balcony or courtyard?
Lined crate that is fitted with a false bottom, reducing the amount of soil required and preventing the rotting of the base of the crate. The standard false bottom allows for 30cms of soil depth - ideal for all vegetables - however this depth can be customised to suit fruit tree planting if required.
We recognise that gardening requires more than just plants, soil, sun, and water. A range of versatile, beautiful, and helpful accessories greatly assist with the gardening process. Therefore, we have specially curated this selection of useful products to not only make time in the patch easier, but also to ensure that your garden is as healthy as possible.
Pests are inevitable in the garden and shouldn't cause undue stress. When growing on a personal or family scale pests are seldom catastrophic, more of a nuisance than a problem. Fortunately, many of us grow for fun and don't have to worry about a swarm of locusts carrying away our livelihood overnight.

Bought a gourmet mushroom kit. Followed the instructions to the letter. Not a sign of a mushroom appearing. Kit appears as fertile as a mars landscape. Disappointing.

I have bought four seasonal calendars (one for myself and three as gifts) and love them to bits. I’ll be ordering the Pest & Disease and Companion Planting charts next. I’ve found laminating them is great. The best bit, is that they come beautifully packaged and everything is recyclable. Bargain 🤗🤗🤗

Had two crates installed at our place and were very happy with them.
So much so that we got two half crates for my elderly mother in law.
Unfortunately in the meantime, the bottom of the crates went from being filled with straw to much less eco friendly polystyrene chips, which now leak out all over the patio.
Would not recommend anyone purchasing if they still use polystyrene.

Randomly went through the courtyard full of plants for sale while waiting for the bus and got my cat a cat mint/nip plant and cat grass. Plus lavender for myself. $6 each, it's very cosy inside too. The staff was friendly and helpful :)
Edit: this was for the one in balaclava seems like they've moved?

Can't really review items as they never arrived. I did however get a very prompt refund after courier unable to locate items but it would have been nice if Little Veggie had offered to ship items express as they were for a Christmas gift. That would have been great customer service.

Didn’t buy anything but enjoyed the place and will definitely go back. The prices were reasonable and good variety of the plant considering their space.
