We are very proud of our Kindy and our excellent staff. Our children have a wonderful time here and it is amazing to watch our little people growing and learning. Play is encouraged and supported at our Kindergarten as an essential and natural mode of learning for young children. It is through PLAY that children make sense of their world, display their knowledge of it and find their place in it.
Our program aims to provide an appropriate balance of teacher initiated and child initiated activities focused on interests, enjoyment and free choice. You will see the children engaged in painting, pasting, puzzles, block building, dressing up, story reading, sand and water play, climbing, running and other outdoor activities.

Services
Whitfield Kindy is run by the Whitfield Community Kindergarten Association Inc, and is affiliated with the Crche and Kindergarten Association of Queensland ("C&K"). C&K is an umbrella organisation which has some centres of its own, and over 340 affiliated kindergartens, making it the largest, as well as the leading, non-government early childhood education provider in Queensland.
All of our teachers are three and four year trained specialists in the area of early childhood education, in line with C&K requirements and requirements under the Child Care Act 2002 and the Child Care Regulation 2003.
As early childhood teachers, they have specific training in the education of children in the early years, but are also qualified to teach children up to the end of primary school (and could teach in Queensland primary schools if they chose, one of our teachers in fact has recently come to us from the State School system).

Fees are to be paid in advance within two weeks of the date of issue of the Term Invoice, which is usually distributed during the first week of each term. Due to security issues, we are unable to accept fee payments in cash. QKFS have extended Kindy support to provide more families with the opportunity to access low or no cost Kindy.
