Our first store from 1984-1993 was a country general store Strides Department Store in Huonville in the Huon Valley apple country.
I was smitten and in 1989 we expanded and moved into Kingston just south of Hobart, albeit a much larger town than Huonville, and opened Home Finishing Touches a specialist window furnishing and decorator store. Here I could let my artistic talent loose and over the next 10 years took Home Finishing Touches to another level of decorating excellence in Tasmania.
