Port River Marine Services is a leading Australian family-owned marine repair, service, sales & manufacturing facility based in Largs North, South Australia. Established in 1985 by highly respected boat builder Jim Theodore, the business has grown from a small yacht fit out company in a one man team to a nationally accredited marine facility with a team of 20.

A truly multi-disciplinary shipyard, boat brokerage, repair and maintenance facility, Port River Marine Services undertakes a wide range of marine services including some of the most difficult and extensive repair jobs in the industry and is an accredited and preferred Insurance repairer with a AMSA & MSA Marine Surveyor onsite.

Services Report

On average, any vessel permanently moored in the water should be cleaned and anti-fouled every 12 to 18 months as a general rule. There are some exceptions to this depending on the type of water your boat is moored in, the tidal flow, the size of the vessel and the material the vessel is made from.

Port River Marine Services operates a 70T Crib Point Engineering Straddle Carrier Shiplift with the deepest water in Adelaide. Extensive hardstand facilities over 45,000m for Short Term, Long Term & Commercial packages. Port River Marine Services is continuously investing in the latest technology and boasts over $1m company owned plant and equipment.

Projects Report

Containing a highly contaminated residue, the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service vessel GALLANTRY required to be bunted and the residue removed, this included may key stakeholders and involved parties and Port River Marine Services was chosen as the right choice to undertake the works.

After undertaking prestigious Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, Super Maxi Rambler 88 from the USA chose Port River Marine Services as the yard to organise the vessel slipping out of the water and prepared for overseas transport.Port River Marine Services was chosen due to the deepest water access and security associated with our 3m high electric fences.

They provide a good service for Adelaide. They can't stock everything but can get what you need. Bought a Highfield from them and they have good knowledge of the brand. Jim, James and Marteen are always so helpful.

Firstly these guys are absolutely top notch. I had an incident involving a car hitting my boat. James was exceptional. He took the time to look over the damage, provide a full written report and sent everything itemised to the insurance company. Nothing was too much bother, he was a great communicator through every part of the process. The work was… scheduled in and was made available for pickup on the date promised. The whole process was seamless. Jason the gentleman working on the boat was also more than happy to answer questions and do a little extra without any issues when I asked for
