Michael established the business Red Textas 26 years ago after previously working a decade in local government (Caulfield, Brighton, Maroondah and Warrnambool Councils). His role today is the company general manager. He also carries out the roles of building inspector and senior building surveyor which includes organising staff, checking new applications, and quoting of jobs.
From 2021, Michael will no longer be the company RBS for new building projects; preferring to use his knowledge in a full- time role to promote the business and mentor 8 other technical staff. Like the other key staffers, Michael remains member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveying (now for 22 consecutive years).

Services
Red Textas is a well-established and reliable building surveying team specialising in issuing building permits and carrying out building inspections across Victoria. Keeping pace with the building legislation changes and developing our business to effectively manage the increasing level of building projects has been the major challenge for over 25 years.
The building permit process will start once we agree on the professional fees. Formal fee proposals are sent out twice a week after the plans are emailed and an estimated construction cost is provided. Once the job is loaded, the building surveyors will endeavour to check the application as soon as possible (typically a week).

Red Textas were completely incompetent in signing off the building works adjoining my property. The building was never 100% complete, the windows were completely different to the plans and the building leaks causing damage to my property. They failed to answer any correspondence and I had to report them to the Victorian Building Authority to get action taken. Avoid this company at all cost!

One of the most professional and timely services in Greater Melbourne! They are knowledgeable, strict (which is for your project's greater good) but fair. Our builders' feedback has also been positive about their practical and fair approach for inspections on site. We have been using Red Textas for years now and I can't see a reason to change that.

I was directed to this company to get a building permit - mainly due to convenience. I wish I had done my homework beforehand. They were a nightmare!
I will NEVER use this company again.
The level of professionalism was so far away from what is acceptable, it seemed that the staff that we spoke to forgot the client who was paying for their service. Multiple times I encountered a very unhelpful and rude female who should definitely never have any client contact whatsoever.
My advice is to take your money elsewhere. It may be difficult to get through the red tape of permits, but this company made

Red Textas have been issuing swimming pool permits for us for several years. Their prompt turnaround time and ongoing communication is a real positive for us. The office team are always a pleasure to deal with. Red Textas have a great logical understanding of swimming pools/safety barriers and have worked with us to problem solve difficult designs.
