Services
Many people already know that a well maintained lawn can increase the value of your home and provides a great safe surface for kids and pets to play, however turf also has many other benefits. Turf is considerably cheaper than other surface finish products such as concrete, pavers or synthetic grass.
Our evergreen Tall Fescue is a great cooler climate grass which is shade and frost resistant. This beautiful dark green grass retains its colour all year, and has a deep root system with a fine leaf texture. We recommend this grass for areas such as Canberra, Orange, Bathurst, Boorowa and Goulburn areas.
Once you have decided to lay turf, ground preparation is very important. Think of it as the foundations - if the ground is well prepared you will give your turf the right start to keep it in top condition! 2. Rid the site of weeds and grasses by utilising an appropriate herbicide eg roundup or zero.
3. Start laying your turf at the bottom of any slope and always lay across the slope. Also, ensure you start laying your turf at the furthest point from your pallets as this will avoid you having to constantly walk over your newly laid turf before it has had a chance to establish. 4. Lay your turf in a brickwork pattern - ie stagger the joints so they don't all line up as this prevents drying out and soil erosion.
Once all your turf is laid give it a really good soaking with water within half an hour of laying the turf. You will need to keep your turf damp for the first 2 - 4 weeks until the roots have begun to establish and the turf cannot be lifted. Regular watering of your turf will keep it in good condition.
