The Garlick Helicopters UH-1H, registered VH-ONZ, was being used to aid Australia's Black Summer bushfire season on the NSW South Coast, when it experienced a critical engine failure 100 feet above water. Drone operators will soon face the same mandatory reporting requirements as traditional aircraft, as the ATSB introduces its biggest overhaul in reporting rules in nearly two decades.

The Australian Airports Association chief executive James Goodwin said the program will better enable airports to support the government's reopening strategy. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has said that regional travel restrictions between Greater Sydney and the rest of NSW will be eased once the state hits its 80 per cent vaccination target.

Australian Aviation has been the trusted source of market intelligence and situational awareness for Australia's aviation sector since 1977. Throughout the industry globally it is considered the benchmark for long-form aviation journalism, delivering insights, breaking news and interpretation on the key issues impacting aviation in Australia - while projecting the sector's capabilities abroad.
The event, originally due to take place in July and then October, takes place at Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield, a one hour drive from the Queensland capital. According to the ATSB's preliminary report into the incident, the aircraft was fully intact prior to the collision, and there was no evidence of pre-impact defects with the aircraft's flight controls, aircraft structure, or engine.
New data from Cirium showed the US was the origin for 94 of the trips, some of which have involved actors jetting in to film Disney's Marvel films. CareFlight has today unveiled its new Gulfstream G150, which it says is Australia's first medical jet capable of transporting critically ill patients from South East Asia.
Australian Aviation photographer Craig Murray captured these incredible shots of a RAAF C-17 Globemaster III performing its planned flyover of the Brisbane CBD. A Royal Australian Navy maritime helicopter MH-60 Seahawk, dubbed 'Berserker', has officially surpassed 2,000 flight hours while on deployment in south-east Asia.
The Garlick Helicopters UH-1H, registered VH-ONZ, was being used to aid Australia's Black Summer bushfire season on the NSW South Coast, when it experienced a critical engine failure 100 feet above water. The state's premier, Mark McGowan, said the new helicopter will replace the Eurocopter Dauphin AS365 that has been operating in its fleet since 2011.

Excellent Museum. Way more items inside than we expected and much larger displays than we thought would be here. Very well worth the visit, especially with the admission and parking being free.

Amazing museum! (National Museum of the U.S Air Force) Hard to believe it's free!
You could actually spend days touring the four large hangers filled with planes. They are designed so that you can walk through them chronologically, from the first flight by the Wright Brothers to the modern era. You can even tour the inside of some of the planes, including Air Force One.
There are a great collection of planes I would like to see: B-52, B-2, B-1B, F-117, global hawk, Air Force one… Save at least half day for here because it’s huge! Will come back again! It’s free! It’s awesome history!

This place is huge! They have so many airplanes inside, I was surprised. Loved the way they have arranged all the airplanes so that you can follow step-by-step how the aviation technology developed over time. It’s a good place to visit on a weekend. Would recommend taking kids because it can be inspirational for them. There is no entry fee but they take donations.

Amazing museum! Hard to believe it's free! There are so many aircraft stuffed in these hangars and yet somehow it doesn't feel cramped. Many vintage and rare birds. You could easily spend days here, so I recommend setting aside at least 3-4 hours to wander around and read all the displays, etc. Electric wheelchairs are available for free if the walking is too much; it is quite a large museum.

Amazing museum with free entry. We spent two days exploring the museum and had a great time. So many airplanes in all directions as you walk around, I'm sure we missed a lot even in two days there. I was there with my young niece and nephews and they all had a great time, they loved the VR.

Amazing museum! There was so much history there, and I particularly enjoyed the space exhibits of the shuttle trainer and Apollo 15, as well as the rockets on display. If you get a chance to go here, also don't forget to walk through all the plane interiors that are open to the public! Travel through history in several of the Air Force One planes presidents were using since Roosevelt. Time well spent!

Australian Aviation is a high quality magazine that has a long history of interesting articles, high-end photography and great columns. I’ve always loved the editorial content and design layout. The new direction is exciting- but still in keeping with the core of the magazine’s intent- informative, high quality aviation journalism! That’s why I’m an avid reader!

The magazine has always been above the rest in terms of content, presentation and format - I too, still have my 1977 copies. I like most of the recent changes in format and expanded content, however I do have a couple of small gripes. Firstly, the publication date for the next issue has disappeared from the Contents page, and much more annoying,… the "" statement"" in most articles, previously in larger Bolded type has now become an amateur looking reverse printed blob on the page (white writing surrounded by the heading colour assigned to the article - not a block , but each line reversed
