The most common cause of heel pain that we see at Richmond Podiatry is caused by Plantar Fasciitis. The pain in the heel is caused by inflammation of the Plantar Fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs from the heel bone along the base of the foot to the bones in your toes. The pain is often described as a stabbing pain and is often at it's worst first thing in the morning or after rest.
Richmond Podiatry can provide a variety of different Orthotics to fit your lifestyle and activity requirements. We will assess your feet and gait cycle (walking) to determine whether Orthotics will help you and the best Orthotic solution for you. We have realistic expectations about your footwear and how often you can wear your Orthotics and work to ensure we find a device to meet your needs.
Ingrown toenails are a painful condition in which the side of the toenail grows into the soft tissue surrounding the nail leading to inflammation and discomfort. If untreated infection can develop as bacteria enters the area where the skin is broken by the toenail. It is important to see your Podiatrist as soon as you feel discomfort to avoid infection particularly if you suffer from Diabetes or conditions involving poor blood supply to the foot.
Onychomycosis or Fungal Nails affect an estimated 1.6million Australians. Fungal nails are caused by an infection to the skin under the nails which causes the nail to become discoloured and mottled in appearance. PACT light therapy- a revolutionary treatment which uses light therapy to kill bacteria, viruses and fungi from the skin.
They can cause pain and discomfort and look unattractive. A Podiatrist can remove the callous and corns with little to no discomfort leaving your feet looking as good as new and a lot more comfortable. If the source of the pressure and friction is established and eliminated the corns and calluses will not return.

Samantha is personable, down to earth, providing practical and easy to follow advice. Could not recommend her services more! By no fault of her own, I did get a bit lost when locating the practice so I recommend either heading to the 32 Erin St entrance (versus the Epworth Hospital entrance on Bridge Rd like I did!). I’ll definitely return! Thanks Samantha!

Samantha is super nice and friendly! She fixed up my ingrown and looked at my orthotics.
The location was a little hard to find so here are some photos to guide you. Go into the hospital, 32 Erin St is the closest entrance, then find The Epworth Centre, take the elevator to level 6 and find suite 6.4. :)
