Services
Any joint within the foot and lower limb can be affected by different types of arthritis/ arthropathies that can cause joint pain, stiffness and impair your ability to walk, fit into footwear and care for your own feet. Pressure areas on the feet can cause corns, callousities and wounds to form.

Our Podiatrists can help with the symptoms associated with arthropathies by assessing the movement of the joints of the foot and lower limb and associated plantar pressure areas. With this information a Podiatrist can remove the associated corns and callousities and determine what type of footwear, pressure offloading devices and exercises maybe helpful to manage your symptoms.
Bunions otherwise known as hallux valgus is deformity of the big toe joint but often involves other joints within the foot. Occasionally a fluid filled sac called a bursa or corns and callousities may also develop over the area. The cause of bunions is not clear in many cases there maybe a genetic link or related to arthritis however the deformity maybe painful and progressive causing walking problems and deformity with the lesser digits.
Our Podiatrists' diagnose and treat acute and chronic problems of children's feet and any associated walking difficulties by examining the foot structures, joint motion, muscle coordination and gait. As bones and muscles develop the posture of the the lower limb and feet change as children mature through the normal developmental pathways.
Corns and callousities are additional layers of skin produced as a body defense to protect underlying tissues against friction and pressure. The presence of a centre suggests a corn has formed. If the cause of pressure is not relieved, calluses and corns can become painful and even ulcerate. Common sites of corn and callus formation, including the ball of the foot, under the big toe, tips and tops of toes and between the toes.
Flat feet or Pes Planus is a term used to describe the lowering of the inner arch of the foot and can be developmental or acquired, fixed or flexible. Flat feet is not an isolated problem but can be related to the position of various bones within the foot such as the heel bone, joints in the mid foot or forefoot.

I had been suffering from chronic back, knee and foot pain for a long time and finally went to see Melina, who prescribed some orthotics..
The consultation was informative and very helpful.
Since wearing the orthotics, my pain has eased tremendously.
Thank you Melina for your help. I would highly recommend her!!!
