The City Medical Practice is located on the corner of Marine Terrace and Cattley Street in the heart of Burnie, on the sunny north-west coast of Tasmania. The practice was formed in 1990. Over the years, City Medical Practice has become one of the largest and most respected practices in Tasmania. City Medical Practice was originally started in 1990 with the merger of three General Practitioners Dr Alfonso Messieh, Dr Rachel Gaggin and Dr Gary Kilov. The principles at the time Dr Kilov and Dr Messieh purchased the building at 1 Cattley Street, which had been operating as the Westpac bank.
Dr Kilov and Dr Messieh continued to expand the business with City Medical Practice employing a podiatrist and contracting a physiotherapist and psychologist.In 1997 the physiotherapist left the surgery. Dr Kilov relocated to Melbourne at the end of 1998.

Dr Alfonso Messiah is a General Practitioner who has a special interest in skin conditions and skin cancers. Appointments require 10 - 20 minute bookings. Due to Dr Messiah's advanced training and skills, and the use of specialised equipment, fees for these services are higher than our standard consultation fees.
