The Breathing App - this app allows you to choose the duration of breathing practice, the ratio of the breaths, and offers a choice of screens. My favourite is the Breathing Ball which increases on the -in-breath and decreases on the out-breath. This is a free app that includes lots of different guided meditations, as well as music, talks and other tools.
Drop your anchor and don't get swept away in the tides of overwhelming thoughts and emotions. Just like a ship dropping anchor to hold itself steady in a storm, Grounding can help when you're at risk of being swept away by tides of overwhelming thoughts, feelings, memories and sensations. Grounding can also be used to disrupt unhelpful thoughts and impulsive or problematic behaviours.
