We were told that we had to pay the full price for 1 night; otherwise, if someone else came and paid then they would get the cabin - there was no such thing as a deposit. also, we were not told that the whole amount was not refundable should we cancel, which we had to do. There was no mention of a credit for the future. The good news is that we would not have used it even if it was offered. We certainly will not be recommending this place to anyone.

These pics are from the SCONE VAN PARK
Only had 2 sites available both on terrible angles either uphill on some green patch, not grass, or downhill on a small bit od gravel. $30 a night, no discount for weekly stays, so we didn't stay at all. Park on Northside was much more accommodating.

Very rundown but although old, the amenities are kept very clean with good showers. A camp kitchen or working bbq would be a great addition. The caretakers are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It is centrally located close to the township.

The web site is misleading. Old and run down but very clean showers and toilets. Quoted one price, upon arrival charged more...in fact, more, than we paid at some very GREAT places.
To enter from the south one must cross a solid white line illegally. The signage is appalling. The sites are tree less and our view was a cloth line! The constant road noise........the trains.....overall........small, tired....ordinary, over priced and misrepresented. In addition it caters for road workers ...not really relaxed travellers.......2/5 is generous...

We appreciate the comments made by Vicrose EE below, and would continue improving our facilities and services. Regarding the charge, her husband booked a powered site ($30 per night), but our relief manager mistakenly charged them for a park van ($44 per night). The mistaken was found, and the overcharge ($14) was refunded to them before they left our park. We recently contacted him, and he was very satisfied with that.
