John Burridge has been dealing in Military Antiques since returning from the Vietnam War in 1970 and has gained a reputation of being one of Australia's leading dealers and experts in military collectables and history. We have an extensive range of militaria and a significant selection of reference books including many rare Australian Regimental histories John has published.
His son David has joined the firm having completed his own overseas service with the Royal Australian Regiment and collectors can look forward to increased activity on this website. Many thanks to the staff at the WA Army Museum for their splendid organization of the recent History Channel filming of "Tour of Duty" with Sir Tony Robinson.

In a beautifully made rose wood case with the Counts coat of arms on the lid showing his awards. The box maker details engraved on the rim. There is a removable insert section containing the following decorations. Kingdom of Spain: The Order of Carlos III, Commander's Cross 1st Class with Breast Star.
This massive flag measuring 3.9 meters deep by 4.1 meters long is in incredible condition by still retaining full colour to both sides with only minor damage to the edge which does not affect any of the symbolism. The banners centre sports a large Prussian eagle within a shield on a large iron cross surmounted by a Royal crown and surrounded by the important symbol of Prussian Royalty being the collar chain and insignia of the Black Eagle Order.
An extremely rare 1st Australian Re-mount Unit "un-official" middle east sand cast hat badge. This badge was purchased direct from family and there can be no doubt to its authenticity. In reply to a query on a Swiss manufactured silver Rising Sun Badge there is no doubt it must be the rarest of the rising Sun Badges.
With so many Australian soldiers departing for foreign shores and the uncertainty of their return, it is understandable how the tradition of giving a wife, sister, mother, and or sweetheart a precious memento would become popular among the troops.
Today we refer to these mementos in general as "sweetheart badges", but in reality these precious gifts could just as easily be a necklace, a ring, or even a hairpin and take many more forms than just solely badges. The desirability of these "sweethearts" is not just the metallic content but also the rarity of the design.

I have been shopping at the Burridge's for 15 yrs and have always found them to be extremely helpful, honest and trustworthy in the manner in which they conduct their business.
For those who have suffered any inconveniences due to the recent misfortune at their shop please remember that these blokes lost 4 decades worth of memrobilia and a lifetimes worth of work in that fire and are doing the best they can given the gravity of the situation.

John's business suffered a catastrophic fire late in November 2015 which saw the shop temporally 'boarded up' until the forensic investigation was complete and the shop made safe.
A great deal of stock plus his forms of communication (telephones and computer) were destroyed in the fire which left him unable to effectively inform customers and new clients of the disruption to the business.
He continues to conduct business in the burnt out shell of his shop for medal mounting and other enquiries which proves his professional approach to his clients and customers.
I have always found John Burridge
