Martin began his career wanting to follow the old adage "prevention is better than the cure". As such he divided his time between testing children in north Queensland and working with Dr Gary Brian, an ophthalmologist with the Fred Hollows Foundation, providing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living in Queensland.
This enabled Martin to see first-hand how devastating life could be with a major loss of vision and underlined the necessity of regular, thorough eye examinations in the maintenance of healthy eyes and healthy sight. Martin moved onto owning practices in central Queensland covering an area several times the size of Tasmania.

The Domani company began in 1992 after the founding family arrived in Sydney. The creators draw inspiration from the colours of Australia and are now available throughout the world. His close working relationship with Ophthalmologists during his time at the Hollows Foundation has provided Martin with a unique insight into helping prevent vision loss due to common conditions including Cataract, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetes.

Martin from day 1 was EXTREMELY thorough with the extensive eye testing he performed on me. I was REALLY impressed with his dedication and commitment to helping me. He even showed me videos of the meibomian eye glands which have been so distressing to me over the past 6 years ; this helped me understand the condition better. He recommended Blephasteam treatment , something I had NEVER been told about before. The results have been incredible giving me hope where I had lost all hope

Martin was recommended to me and I was not disappointed. He was thorough and explained about astigmatism and my shortsightedness. Martin also explained clearly the types of optical lenses available and left the customer to choose. He automatically conducted a health check on my eyes after checking my age group.
Very nice pleasant person as was his staff.
Price wise, Martins Eyecare is reasonable.
