Services
Barry is the Principal dentist in the practice. He took over a small practice from a retired dentist and turned it to the well respected and established practice that it is today. Barry graduated from The University of Sydney in 1996 with a Bachelor of Dentistry. He began working in private practice with two other dentists where he was able to improve on the knowledge attained during his university training.
At Thirroul Dental Care, we can help prevent your tooth and mouth concerns from getting out of control by ensuring you receive the best and most appropriate treatment to address any problems. When you arrive for your appointment our dentists will perform a complete comprehensive examination, where your teeth and gums are meticulously checked and charted.
CEREC is a method of creating porcelain restorations anywhere in your mouth in one visit. Previously a technician was needed to make inlays, on-lays or crowns and veneers off site thereby necessitating two patient visits. Now however only one easy appointment is necessary. If a crown is needed or a veneer, if an old filling needs to be replaced or a tooth is cracked; the tooth can be restored on the spot.
At Thirroul Dental Care, our dentists will assess your gum health, and give you the tools and information to keep your gums healthy and prevent periodontal or gum disease. Periodontal disease, more commonly known as gum disease, attacks the supporting tissues and bones around the tooth. The word 'periodontal' actually means 'surrounding a tooth'.
Crowns and bridges are commonly used to repair badly damaged teeth or replace missing teeth. With modern advancements in technology these restorations can now be colour matched to your teeth, providing a natural looking dental finish. Crowns (sometimes referred to as 'dental caps') cover over and encase the tooth.

Received great care from this lovely clinic. My daughter (4) hurt her front teeth daycare late in the day (5pm) and despite closing at 6, the front desk staff arranged for Dr Barry to have a look at her teeth straight away. He saw her briefly before his final patient and was so kind and helpful - my daughter was completely at ease despite having a bloody mouth. The appraisal put my mind at rest. Their efforts are greatly appreciated!
