Services
Hobbits Knob Cat Retreat is owned and operated by Sunshine Coast locals Tania and Ivan. Tania has had a genuine passion for all creatures great and small, especially cats, from a very young age. She has previously worked as a Veterinary Nurse part time for 10 years, earning a Certificate IV along the way.
Hobbits Knob Cat Retreat has been specifically designed to keep cats free from the harsh Australian climate, predators, parasites and vermin. Our entire cat accommodation area is fully insulated, well ventilated and air conditioned with cooling for the summer and heating for the winter. It is lined with polished timber floors for that homely, relaxed ambience.
We have 5 different accommodation suites available at Hobbits Knob. Each suite has been personalized to suit both the length of stay and your cats personality and needs. All are furnished with chairs, bedding and cubby houses, which are completely cleaned between cats and frequently changed and cleaned during your own cat's stay.
Sanctuary Suites are made up of 10 separate suites (5 with direct view to marine aquarium) which have exclusive, alternative access into a large exercise enrichment space. The exercise enrichment space has a big forked tree trunk for climbing, scratching and discovering the "wild cat". Plants, tunnels, toys, cubes and multiple lounge chairs can also be found in this area.
Our Luxury Suites are walk in height with jumping platforms, plenty of room for a chair, cubby and comfy bedding. There are a number of suites which get plenty of natural lighting at various times during the day as they are opposite the window suites. These suites can house up to 2 cats from the same family for short stays.

This place is a 6 star cat heaven !!!! We have used Hobbits knob on 6 occasions over the last 7 years and we couldn't be happier with the quality of care, the facilities for cats and customers alike, and the staff are absolutely brilliant. I want to say a massive thank you to the owner, Tanya, who offered to house our cats and a neighbours cats for free when we were evacuated from our homes due to the bush fire at Cooroibah that damaged out home.
