Starting out as a small corner cafe with a batch roaster in the back room, we have steadily grown into one of the most recognised coffee brands in North Queensland. My grandfather retired to Spain in the 1960s, As a child when I visited him, I acquired a spontaneous and intense liking of espresso beverages. Early mornings and early evenings were spent consuming muchos cafes espressos in the local tapas bars. A ritual which I confess to retaining to this day.

Back to 1997, with 20 years in the accounting profession behind, I purchased an Australian built 3kg fluid air bed roaster and put it in a shed in Aitkenvale.Back then micro roasters were few and roasting in its infancy, with practically all roasted the same x3 coffees together, in different proportions and with different roast profiles.
