Waratah Preschool and Nursery has a rich history, having provided quality early childhood education and care to Berowra families for over 30 years. Open from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, the centre is fully approved for the Australian government's Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) fee assistance.

We are located close to public transport, with easy access and parking in a natural, residential area. We follow the Early Years Learning Framework, Australia's national quality framework for early childhood education and care. Our centre provides daily updates about children's activities through the ChildCarer's app.

Gallery Report

We encourage good manners at Waratah. The board helps children keep track of their progress when mastering the sometimes challenging task of being well mannered. The preschool has specified focus areas for different play events and age specific activities. Each child is encouraged to bring a photo of themselves as a baby and to tell their story.

Programs Report

Early childhood is a vital time in which children learn and develop. With this in mind the national framework has been developed to extend and enrich children's learning from birth to five years, then on to school. In order to enhance children's learning at our centre, we provide a program that is centred on the EYLF learning outcomes supported by optional extra programs in music and Chinese language (Mandarin).

A wonderful preschool and nursery. The educators feel like family and take amazing and loving care of our children. The centre is lovely and has a beautiful feel and atmosphere. Could not recommend them more highly.

We’ve been a part of the Waratah family for many years. Our boys have thrived and it says a lot that there are many educators who we’ve built relationship with over many years. The centre is run with the utmost professionalism and I leave my children each day knowing they’ll be safe, loved and taught well.
