My business was established by my father, Allan in 1976. He started with a backhoe and later upgraded to a 943 Caterpillar Tracked Loader which most people would know of as a Drott. I had joined him in the business a few years before and decided to continue operating as I know he would have wanted. I followed my fathers foot steps by maintaining an old school personal relationship between myself, the job, my customer and their needs.

As I conducted my own jobs, Sydney and the surounding infrustructure grew and I found myself involed with large companies working on projects such as the M5 Cooks River Tunnel, Westlink M7 Motorway, Northwest Transitway, Hume Hyw Duplication near Wagga Wagga, The Hunter Expressway, Sewage installation and treatment plant for Millfield, Paxton and Ellalong and maintenance with Sydney Water.

We have used this simple but effective design in many arena's and round yards that we have constructed in the past. Visit the website gallery at www.doddsexcavations.com to view arenas we have constructed in the past.

Using a free draining washed sand, it is free from any fines, not only preventing the sand from compacting it also allows water to drain through and flow under the sand, then across the top of the base course, and into the dish drains or off and down the batter. The base course is a hard surface of sandstone or a dense grade road base.

Great work from Jason. Fantastic drainage work, use of sandstone blocks for retaining walls and site levelling and clearing in preparation for paths and driveways. Highly recommended.
