A magnificent heritage listed building located in the picturesque historic main street of Canowindra, the Old Vic Inn is a destination within itself. Services
The first weatherboard Victoria Hotel was built in 1865. A new brick section consisting of ten rooms was built in 1908 in anticipation of the railway coming to Canowindra. The new Victoria flourished and grew in the heart of Gaskill St providing both hotel accommodation and office space.
The graceful arches and iron lace of the verandas were matched in the new wing, though the fashion of the twenties demanded that a veneer of glossy tiles should cover the mellow hand-made bricks outside the bar.The Victoria closed its doors as a hotel in 1967.

Canowindra has emerged as a tourism destination, but has still maintained a charmingly friendly small town atmosphere. The town is well known for art galleries, ballooning, and the Age of Fishes Museum. The historical main street features an unusual bent shape and late nineteenth century architecture.
The Old Vic Inn offers bed and breakfast accommodation with a wide range of accommodation types to suit all requirements. Choose from 15 heritage rooms with ensuites, a three-bedroom self-contained house (for up to 7 people), or self-contained units adjacent. King, queen, family and disabled rooms are available with some opening onto the large veranda overlooking the charming main street of Canowindra.
The Canowindra and Orange Region is well known as the food basket of Australia. The Old Vic Inn's seasonal a la carte menu strives to highlight the best of the local area including beef, lamb and an abundance of fresh produce. The region is also well-known for the variety of award winning wines it produces.
Functions large or small are a speciality of Canowindra's Old Vic Inn. From intimate family occasions to school reunions and corporate conferences with a difference, the Old Vic Inn Team enjoy putting together the perfect event. The function room caters for up to 70 guests at either a seated banquet, or informal cocktail style format.

The foods in the dinner time from the restaurant were exceptional. Especially their Surf & Turf with their pepper sauce, their lambs, and their chocolate lava dessert and pear on the red wine. Their local shiraz wine The Mill also too good to be true.
The bedroom and the breakfast made you feel home. Serve yourself and make your home.

We stayed at the Old Vic Inn on Saturday and Sunday nights over the long weekend and wow what an experience!! From the moment we arrived our hosts Graeme and Alison made us feel so welcome. Our room was beautiful old charm, extremely clean and the bed was so comfy. It was a very cold weekend and even though split system heating was provided we didn't need it our room was toasty warm and the fireplace in the lounge area downstairs was cozy and a great atmosphere. Graeme and Alison took time out to come and chat with us on both nights while we had drinks in the lounge before dinner which was lovely

Great atmosphere here, classic and clean establishment, after signing in, there's a lovely small bar and sitting room with a roaring fireplace and a solid selection of alcoholic beverages. Had a Kozel dark beer (Czech) and then two excellent local ciders, one a pear and the other applr, which seems to be rare in this town as the locals appear to be drawn to familiar drinks like Strongbow.
The dining room is just as warm and welcoming and the food is delicious, well cooked and full of flavour. Loved my lamb rump, tender and hearty, although I would say the spring rolls are tasty but rather overpriced

I fell in love with this elegant Grand Lady from the minute I arrived. I was the only guest and had the luxury of the top floor to myself padding around in bare feet to look at all the rooms tastefully… decorated to suit the era and made a cup of tea in the breakfast room before retiring to my suite.
Absolutely gorgeous room overlooking the Main Street and luxurious bedding to keep me snug and warm along with central heating. The bathroom was quite cold and could have done with a radiant wall heater to make an evening shower a little more pleasant.
Sadly the pub and restaurant were closed
