The Sandman opened its doors in 1948, when Kevin White, having just spent 4 year serving in WW2, hand made the first ever Sandman mattress. From here, with help from his two sons Gerard and Michael White, the company grew. Although originally based in Melbourne, the factory is now situated in Geelong, Victoria.
Before getting started on your custom mattress, here are 3 very important tips to consider. Consider your body's (and partners) temperature. Do you sleep hot? Do you sleep cold? A mattresses comfort layer will affect your bodies temperature. Firm mattresses will keep you cooler than soft mattresses.
By decreasing the number of synthetic layers used in the Cotton Pillowtop Mattress, it makes it ideal for hot sleepers and allergy sufferers. Cotton is a natural fibre that resonates harmoniously with our bodies. When we surround ourselves with organic cotton we function and sleep at our optimum. Whether it has been in clothing or a sleeping surface, wool's natural attributes have been tested and proven as a liveable fibre.
Our Mattresses are made from high quality products and techniques. The Sandman stands proudly beside its guarantee policy and should anything ever need fixing or looking at we are able to do so within a week (this may vary on a customers location and time of the year).
However, it is important for customers to know that a guarantee does not cover change of comfort preference (eg too soft or too firm), nor does it cover the general wear and tear of a mattress.A mattress will change in feel, shape and even support over its life span. Mattresses manufactured by Sandman Mattress Factory are guaranteed against defects in manufacture and materials for the period indicated on the label affixed to the mattress.
