The Rural Museum is sure to rival the best and most comprehensive of its type in Australia. It contains farm machinery, equipment, a gun collection, photography and other artefacts all relating to our agricultural and pioneering past. It is located on the Oxley Highway, 1 km west of the Visitor Information Centre.

When you are hosting any event you want to ensure accommodations are the best possible for your official guests so that's why after a visual inspection of all hotel/motel accommodation providers in Gunnedah we selected Mackellar Motel.
The rooms are big, the beds comfortable and the facilities 1st class.
Of course this would be just a property without the management and staff that make it come together to provide the result that my team and guests received.
Well Done Mackellar Motel....Well Done Gunnedah.

Disappointed. We booked an executive queen and twin rooms. Extremely overpriced for rooms which were both very drab and decorated in dull browns, nothing colourful like the pics on the website. Staff were pleasant, nothing more nothing less.
Considering the recent travel slump I’d expect more effort and presentation.Also the hot water in the bathroom had to be run for a lengthy time to eventually get water which was tepid at best.
Ive submitted many positive reviews during my travels. Unfortunately this was a rare exception.
Location was good, walking distance to eateries and shops.

This hotel is so rude!! It says ‘pet friendly’ but they absolutely are NOT! They were very happy to take my booking, then they asked me what age and breed my 2 dogs are. After I told them they then turned around and said oh we are all booked out now so I need to cancel my booking or I will get charged for the room!
How unprofessional and bias!! I am so offended & would rather spend my money elsewhere! Somewhere where the staff are accommodating and friendly!

Would rate 6 stars if I could. The staff were amazing and so friendly. A few hiccups on my arrival and they couldn’t do enough to assist. The property is spotlessly clean. Free continental breakfast. The shower was amazing. Probably the best water pressure of any shower I’ve had in any hotel anywhere! Would recommend this place highly and will definitely stay here if I return to Gunnedah.

Great location, Reception was effortless. The carpet was actually fluffy. Motel carpet is always clean but this place had the softest carpet I've had in a room. The bedding was also very soft and fluffy. Disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open but welcome to 2020. That's no one's fault. Greg loved the bathrobes. The view of the mountains were nice. Very comfortable, spacious room. The spa was wonderful after 4 hours of driving. Everything was fully functioning. We're bringing the cat next time. The staff were cheerful. The other guests were friendly.

Booking the room was easy, the staff were more than eager to help us out with some bedding reconfigurations, when we turned up the room was already warm with the ac on low, was nice to come into after being on the road all day and being a cold night. Room was so clean and nice and spacious, we’ll definitely be staying here again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
