We have 25 years of experience in environmental and social consulting, successfully completing over 5,000 projects across Australia in the public and private sectors, incorporating infrastructure, mining, industrial, urban development, defence, and state and commonwealth government sectors. The expertise of the organisation is as diverse as it is extensive, with many of the team being leaders in their fields of expertise.

Supporting and guiding our clients through comprehensive environmental impact assessment processes to achieve sustainable project approvals is a core part of our business. With offices in NSW, QLD, ACT and WA, Umwelt is familiar with the best practice and project. We work closely with clients and communities to ensure that the potential social impacts of our clients projects and operations are identified, understood, communicated and managed.

The new office adaptively re-uses an 88-year old heritage building formerly used as the much loved Teralba Co-op, which was associated with the former Newcastle Co-op "The Store." David Selden Design took on board substantial design input from Umwelt staff to incorporate many 'green' building features including a roof top garden, 250 solar panels, LED lighting throughout the building.

When the necessary techniques do not exist, we develop innovative new solutions to solve customer problems. An excellent example is the award-winning innovations within LiDAR and spatial data processing that Umwelt has pioneered over the past decade to deliver unique project outcomes.

This pioneering spirit has led to the development of industry-leading point cloud classification and feature detection techniques, and a flexible and massively scalable high performance computing environment called Anditi.In 2014 Umwelt set up a new company (Anditi Pty Ltd) to build on this extensive development work and commercialise Anditi with a view to realising its full breadth of applications in the world market.

We are very proud to have recently rolled out the Umwelt Employee Share Plan as part of our long term succession and employee reward program.
