Balance Dance School's philosophy is to provide a creative sanctuary that nutures a love of dance and an appreciation for the creative arts. The focus of our dance classes is on the process rather than the product; expectations are removed in Toddler Creative Dance and Kinder Creative Ballet, offering children a supportive environment where they can learn to express themselves through imaginative dance and creative movement.
For our littlest dancers! Ideal for children from 20 months - 3 years of age. A parent or guardian is required to actively participate with children in this class, sharing the experience. The class consists of a fun, friendly introduction to dance movements using props, engaging music and nursery rhymes, and is based on children's natural movements of running, skipping, galloping, jumping and turning.
Our Kinder Creative Ballet curriculum is designed to develop coordination, self-confidence, body awareness and social skills. The 30 minute class consists of a gentle introduction to classical ballet and contemporary dance, with the emphasis is still on creativity and enjoyment.
Kinder Creative Ballet aids social development by helping children learn basic disciplined dance studio behaviours of waiting and taking turns, following instructions, working together and having a positive attitude.One Parent or guardian is allowed into the studio to support their little dancer by watching the class.

Following on from Balance Dance School's Toddler Creative Dance and Kinder Creative Ballet programmes, we offer the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) classical ballet syllabus as a framework for our ballet classes. We deliver this program in the same manner as our younger classes - promoting feeling before form, providing a nurturing environment and creative outlet.
An expressive form of dance that is forever evolving incorporating movements that explore the use of gravity and the physicality of the body. This class is offered as an extension to Balance Dance School's ballet classes for students who attend Gr 2 ballet and above. A strong classical technique is required and therefore we only offer contemporary dance to children also enrolled in ballet.

I highly recommend Balance Dance School for children wishing to learn and enjoy classical ballet, Jazz and contemporary dance in a nurturing and positive environment. Correct technique training forms a solid base for growing bodies to learn ballet safely and a nurturing culture (without unnecessary pressure) enables growing minds to thrive.

Boutique dance school with caring staff who focus on classical ballet technique and fostering a love of dance. A former professional dancer, the owner and principal dance teacher makes dance a positive and enjoyable activity. Balance Dance is equally good for both boys and girls, encouraging a joy in dance that will last a lifetime. My children have flourished, moving from toddler dance classes, through kinder ballet, to graded ballet exams, jazz and contemporary classes. The teachers genuinely care about all the students and offer small classes and an individual approach to teaching. Highly recommend

I have been so pleased with Balance Dance School. Since my daughter was five she has been welcomed, nurtured and encouraged at Balance Dance School. I have been especially pleased with the smaller numbers in the classes, it provides greater learning and connections for the children.

What a fabulous dance school. My daughter was really nervous during her first lesson and the teacher was just so lovely and kind to her. They even offered zoom classes during lockdown (which were gorgeous and hilarious!). Classes are small and prices are great, especially for the concert costumes. Miss Rebecca is super organised and amazing, I can't wait to see the christmas concert. My daughter just loves it, can't recommend them highly enough!!!

So happy with my two boys experience at Balance over the last few years. Lovely classes which are small enough for individual attention, and there are two other boys in his classical ballet class (and several others scattered through the years), which helps reinforce that dance is for boys AND girls.
