Total Eyecare remains the only 100% wholly Tasmanian, wholly optometrist-owned optometry group in Tasmania. We are independent which means we can continue to put superior clinical eyecare at the forefront of our practice. A close second comes our commitment to providing our 100,000 patients with eyewear solutions that enhance their view of the world.
Our commitment to optometry in southern Tasmania began in Hobart in 1946 with the establishment of Ken Iredale's first optometry practice on the corner of Elizabeth and Macquarie Streets in the old Colonial Mutual Life (CML) Building. Over the years the small practice grew and merged with other small independent optometry practices to eventually become Total Eyecare Optometrists.
Total Eyecare Optometrists will be the leading provider of quality eyecare and eyewear in our community. Each year, a number of our Optometrists volunteer their time and expertise in East Timor. Andrew Koch initially went in 2002 as part of a training program for local eyecare workers, and Total Eyecare has supported this program ever since.
Because our optometrists own Total Eyecare, ensuring that each patient is completely satisfied with their vision outcomes is very personal for us. We only deal with suppliers that provide superior products that we'd be happy for our mother's to wear. With that guiding principal, we source our lenses from those suppliers that can assure quality, commitment to technical advancement, and a wide range of lens designs.

Don't go to this place - ESPECIALLY DON'T SEE DR. HEEYOON KIM!!! She's the worst eye doctor I've ever seen in my life. I went there for an annual exam and to get my vision prescription so i could get a new pair of glasses. The office felt like there's no air flow - especially in covid currently i don't know how that's allowed. And the lighting was very very dark, i couldn't even see things that clear with my contacts on, I don't understand how this could be an eye exam friendly environment. It's prone to accidents.

Less collection of frames.. but reception lady is not helpful at all in checking the coverage properly.
I went in the afternoon and she said she needs time like an hour to call insurance guys and validate. I came back and gave her a call after 2 hours and they neither checked or speaking like they don’t know me.
She again took all my info and said she will check before EOD and never returned.
I understand they don’t need business and too much careless people...
