Carlton Audio Visual
We are very pleased to be a part of this excellent promotion on our favourite Marantz stereo components. The Pole House is a distinctive part of the landscape on the Great Ocean Road here in Victoria. One of Australia's smartest people bought it when it finally came up for sale by the original pylon engineer who had built it initially in the 1960s.

Like many people who actually do something really useful for society this gentleman is incredibly modest and unassuming but has an unbridled love for good music and video. We were called in at the early stages to conceptualise and iterate the audio visual systems and automation.
Services
If a company's major asset is its staff, then I think we are doing very well. Within our group of twentyish employees and associates we have nigh-on two hundred years (!) of joint industry experience. We offer a range of audio visual competencies that is virtually unique in Victoria and beyond. Our projects range from rewiring a thirty year old magnetic cartridge for charity through to residential and corporate installations up to the $1m level.
The TWIN is an entry level twin-lead AWG 16 loudspeaker cable with a good sonic quality despite its friendly price. Originally designed for install purposes, due to high demand The TWIN is now also available for consumer applications. The Clean it carbon fibre stylus cleaning brush is suitable for daily cleaning of the stylus.
As the engine room of your system, the amplifier provides you with the power needed to make your speakers sing. Amplifiers come in all shapes and sizes, from half pint integrated amps through to gargantuan Pre/Power multi-box monoliths! Offering 25 watts of power per channel in a great value package, the AXA25 features a 3.5mm aux input on the front for smartphones and four analogue inputs on the back panel for connecting all your sources.
The preamplifer is the connection point for your audio sources. It not only lets you control the volume, but it also deals with the signals when they are the most delicate. Digital audio is brilliant, but it needs to be analogue audio before you can hear it. And the way it ends up sounding depends entirely on how you convert the digital audio files stored on your computer, on CD or from your favourite streaming service.
Power amps provide the grunt to get your speakers moving. It takes a delicate signal and ramps it to 11. Chosing a power amplifier to carfeully match your speakers power demands will maximise your dynamics. This unit is built around the RB-1582Mk II but offers slightly less power at 130W per chanel (as opposed to 200W per chanel).

Heard there were a few fake reviews of Carlton AV going around, so thought I'd contribute a review of an actual purchase.
I live in regional Victoria and have always had hifi in my life. About a year before my purchase, I had the pleasure of demonstrating a pair of speakers from an Australian speaker manufacturer which was winding up production after several decades. Unfortunately I didn't have the finances to justify their price immediately but begun working towards a pair. I didn't want my next speakers, I wanted my last pair.
Once I had my finances in order, I reached out to the owner of the

I wanted to replace my 30-year old gear with some new equipment so contacted Carlton Audio Visual. I received some great advice over the phone during the lockdown period that helped me shape my initial ideas. When the shop opened again, I was given the opportunity to compare my old stereo against a range of new options with the help of Magnus Turner. He was very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to deal with. He helped me decide on some great new speakers and an amplifier, and also offered me a good deal. I would highly recommend Carlton Audio Visual and Magnus in particular.

Made a few purchases over the past 8 or so years. Staff are always helpful and it’s great fun talking sound with other AV nuts. Finally completed a 5.1 set up with a couple of Monitor Audio in ceiling speakers during the depths of Covid. The Monitor Audio sub is dangerous. Keep all glass out of the house and windows boarded when cracking out the bass. See photo to have your mind blown.

I bought my first turntable here about 4 years ago, and had great customer service back then. Fast forward to last week, I decided to upgrade my setup, and my first point of call was CAV. I spoke to Nick over the phone, discussed my options for a trade-in, and despite him advising me to sell privately (where I'd get more for my item), I actually felt like their offer was pretty fair, so I was happy to go ahead with CAV. 2 days later, I was able to collect my new turntable. All in all, the service is still great, stock is well priced and it's just nice to be able to support a local business. I'll

I bought an amp and speakers from Carlton Audio Visual twenty years ago, a system that has brought me much joy. To this day the staff are happy to help me with questions I might have as I tweak the system and incorporate other components. Ignore the fake bad reviews and trust that these guys are friendly, trustworthy and have the right balance of passion and expertise to guide you in your purchase of all things sound related

A much-loved institution for hi-fi in Melbourne. I’ve purchased my Legend speakers, Rega amp, Rotel CD player and Denon HEOS Link from them, as well as guided my parents to purchase a similar system from CAV. Couldn’t be happier with the service, advice and support from Rab and his team. They are knowledgeable, honest, and love what they do. I have sent several friends here and none have ever come back disappointed.

Really lovely shop. Has been there forever. Supports the business style that most of us love. Yes, you may pay $100 more, but great! I got some really lovely bookshelf speakers here, and I just know they will last forever, and if they don't, I know I'll be welcome to pop back in for assistance.

I recently made a substantial purchase here for some high end Yamaha speakers. I dealt with the owner and what a great chat we had. He really looked after me with the sale, with in 2 days my speakers arrived at my home. Amazing service, I will only purchase from here in the future.

I’ve bought a Devialet phantom and was given incredible service to test and price the purchase. Following this I bought a musical fidelity amp and a pair of bookshelf speakers. The knowledge and friendliness of your staff is astounding. There were no up sells and at times down sells. This is my one stop shop because you know your craft and your attitude is one of a family. Different to simply making sales for a commission.
