Duane Trouchet is the principal guide and part owner with his father, Greg. They have lived and fished in the Territory since 1980. After Duane graduated from his schooling he sought work in the marine/fishing industry. He secured work as an apprentice Outboard Technician and graduated in 1993. He has been fishing and guiding since then and in 1995 together with Greg they started D.N.A. Barra Fishing.

The run off after the wet season is famous for big Barramundi action, and if you choose to fish the King tides you won't be disappointed! We also fish the Neap tides where you'll be able to target a huge variety of fish including Barramundi, Black Jewfish, Threadfin Salmon, Golden Snapper, Queenfish and Giant Trevally to name a few.

Darwins North Australian Barra Fishing offer extended tours from 2 to 14 days, tailored to meet your personal requirements. Wet season run-off Barra fishing in the tidal rivers of Kakadu during March, April and May offer some of the best barra fishing in the Top End and a great fishing adventure.

Fishing the magnificent rivers in Kakadu National Park the South and East Alligator Rivers you also have the option to fish the reef out the front of these rivers for Golden Snapper & Black Jew Fish on the smaller tides.Only licensed guides can fish the world heritage listed National Park and we have met the stringent criteria imposed to be one of the few guides fishing the park.

We operate our mothership trips from Mid May - December fishing the Mini Mini System in Western Arnhemland. Depending on availability we use several mothership all provide a comfortable base for your remote fishing adventure. More details of the mothership can be supplied on request. A mothership charter is all about getting away from the crowds and fishing remote areas that are not easily accessed.

We are super excited to have access again to one of our old stomping grounds, the Arnhemland Barra Camp on the Endyalgout Island. It's been a few years since we have used the camp but we have been fishing area (Mini Mini System) on our Mothership Charters. The mothership is still an option but with limited availability and some people preferring the land based options it's great to have another option for you.
