Services
Mungo Lodge was first built by a private investor who had a dream of sharing the majesty and mystery of Mungo National Park. Many of the Lodge's initiatives are based on reducing carbon footprint through a commitment to eco-tourism (ecologically sustainable tourism) and geo-tourism (enhancing the geographical character of a place - its environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage, and the well-being of its residents).
They are a careful blend of the environment coupled with touches of outback luxury. Modern furnishings, local artworks, and sophisticated amenities are provided to enhance your experience. All cabins have uninterrupted views of the semi-arid, outback landscape from a private rear decking. Each cabin features spacious interiors, with natural hues of brown and vanilla.

Huge thank you to Mungo Lodge for their exceptional hospitality and friendliness, in particular to Lee and to Jewels, who among others looked after our family during our stay. Mungo Lodge provided exceptional customer service even before we had arrived - we had called to asked questions about our stay and the staff were warm, polite, friendly and patient. This impression remained the same upon our arrival at the lodge. The Mungo Lodge has clean and comfortable facilities, and the restaurant on site has great food. We would highly recommend staying here - also, a day trip to Mungo National Park

We stopped at the bistro for lunch. All aspects of the food - beer-batter fish and chips and salad followed by carrot cake - were outstanding (even the vinaigrette was notably excellent!). The room was lovely, including a closed log fire. Checked out the accommodation for a possible future stay, and it looked good. Also enjoyed the native wildlife just outside.

As a city dweller, Mungo reminds me of how wonderful Australia is. Travelling in red dirt roads, open spaces, being isolated for kilometers from everything. But yet in the midst of it all is Mungo Lodge. Its like an Oasis in a desert! A place to rest with well kept surroundings, clean accommodation, delightful food and wonderful and friendly staff. While there, talk to the staff as they are also part time tour guides and know the surrounding areas very well.

Excellent facilities to stay and enjoy a magical place. Comfortable rooms, super friendly and accommodating staff, good food. The tours are well worth booking, as well. Stay 2 nights so you can actually enjoy the area!
Be mindful that the place is very remote. You're staying in the desert, afterall!
Definitely worth visiting and if you're not staying here, join one of their tours!

We stayed for 1 night at the Mungo lodge and it became an unforgettable stay. The front office staffs were very welcoming and checkin process was very simple and easy. They communicate to you well before the actual stay for getting the dinner requirements as we planned for the sunset tour.
We booked a King size deluxe room and it was a perfect one. It is very clean with all the required amenities. Nothing to complain about.
The beauty of this place lies more with the staffs (both front office and restaurant) who are doing an exceptional job. The cost may look pricey but one would know it is actually
