We had looked around at several stores in Ottawa so we knew what we were looking for and prices before we went here. Our sales rep listened to us, did not try to up-sell, offered useful recommendations and had experience. We were offered the best price we were able to find. It was a good experience. We paid for delivery of the double oven and thank goodness, those are realllly heavy. It arrived when it was supposed to and the two young gentlemen that delivered it were fer friendly and pleasant. Worst experience of my shopping life. They sold me a stove, fridge, dishwasher and a bar fridge and we have had problems with each of the Kitchen Aid appliances. Universal takes no responsibility and has not intervened with manufacturer to correct the situation. They are very bad at customer service and I suggest you avoid them. BTW This is the first time I have panned a supplier in my home town.

My husband and I recently went to Universal to buy a Bosch dishwasher. We had looked at other stores and had done research so we knew a basic model would fit our needs. We told our salesperson this and he showed us a $1000+ model. When he searched for availability, there was none, so he tried to upsell us to a $1500 model. I looked around and found a basic model for $700 and it was available. Salesman never showed us this one. Poor service! Sales person did not introduce himself, didn’t show me any models (I know there is a basement showroom) told me to go look at their website if I want information. I had already been on the website and wanted to see inside the washers and compare...but couldn’t do that! I felt very unwelcome in this store. I even brought my husband to see the model I am interested in (Heubsh), but wasn’t shown anything! Waste of time going into their show room. Won’t go back, wouldn’t recommend this place at all!

We have received ongoing stellar sales assistance from Neil. He knows the products and which item will suit you best. And he never exerts pressure on you to make the purchase decision.
Their prices are competitive and their selection is extensive. They can likely service every price range. Do yourself a favour and shop where the staff knows their stuff.

After-sales service is their priority and top shelf service. Universal Appliances not only had great pricing, but the experience was transparent and informative. Tyler Cochrane is the man you want to order your appliances with, professional and friendly with years of solid knowledge on the products.
