Gumnut Antiques was established in 1984 and is run by Denise and Steven Koszek, a husband and wife team licenced to trade in antiques, silver, jewellery and associated wares. For the first 11 years of business we were involved in the restoration and conservation of Australian Colonial furniture, the following 6 years working in conjunction with Stanmore Colonial Antiques in Sydney until their retirement.
The next 5 years we were involved in a successful partnership called Trilogy Antiques in Erina on the Central Coast. In late 1999 we finally opened under our original trading name Gumnut Antiques. We still have a leaning towards Australian antiques and collectables but no longer specialise, trading more generally in most things old and antiques.

Friendly, but offered me $20 for a 100 year old solid 14k gold cigarette box family heirloom because it had no markings. It did have markings, Scandinavian markings instead of the usual standard. Took it directly across the road to the Pawnbrokers who performed proper scratch test with acid, and xrays, and they offered me $950. When I returned to her shop she fobbed me off saying “we don’t have equipment like that”. Wasn’t interested at all.
The upside, shopping there might nab you a huuuuge bargain.
