Pater Leadlights is a family business whose origins stem back to the 1920's. We pride ourselves in offering every client good old fashioned quality and friendly service. We can produce beautiful designs to suit your existing doors, sidelights, windows and cabinet doors. We have 100's of wonderful designs to choose from or we can design something specific to suit your individual business needs.
We can supply and organise installation of leadlight doors, windows and entrance frames. At Pater Leadlights we comply with Australian Standards 1288 and can, therefor, reinforce, double glaze or triple glaze leadlights to add extra strength and security if required. Worked with Pater Leadlights through Boronia Doors for a new front door to our recently renovated Edwardian home.

Services
The history of Pater Leadlights stems back to the 1920's when my grandfather, Martin Pater, began in the Stained Glass Industry. He completed many stained glass projects, mainly in Churches, before migrating to Australia in 1956. Martin's son, Peter, also chose to be in the glass industry and together they worked on many projects together.
Beautiful traditional designs that were made hundreds of years ago are what leadlights are all about. It's the birth place of leadlight and Stained Glass. In Early times, coloured glass slabs were originally set in concrete to form beautiful patterns to enhance the Beauty and Architecture of buildings of the times.
There is a misconception that leadlights only belong in Federation homes. There could be nothing further from the truth. The fact is that contemporary and modern designs can enhance a modern home just as beautifully as traditional designs can enhance a federation home. It's no different to choosing modern art for a modern home as to choosing modern leadlights for a modern home.
Leadlight doors add lots of character to the inside as well as to the outside of the home. Leadlights are not only restricted to the standard 820 door but also to cabinet doors in furniture as well as kitchen cabinet doors. Traditional as well as contemporary modern designs can be used depending on your style of home.
Beveled glass is made by taking thick glass and creating an angled surface cut (bevel) around the entire periphery. Bevels act as prisms in sunlight creating an interesting color diffraction which both highlights the glass work and provides a spectrum of colors which would ordinarily be absent in clear float glass.
