When it comes to mastering the ins and outs of sewing machines, Stephen goes above and beyond to develop his skills. It all started in 1984 when he worked for a Singer service and repair agency in Wellington, New Zealand. During the next few years, he subcontracted for Janome, Baby Lock and Brother International, before moving to Brisbane in 1998.
The Sewing Machine Doctor is an independent servicing and repair centre for all major brands of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines and overlockers. Our lead technician, Stephen Potts, is a fully qualified Husqvarna and Viking Service Technician, and has worked with all makes and models of machines.
Established in 2001, Stephen Potts is your sewing machine doctor! Servicing clients throughout Gympie and surrounds, Stephen is a fully qualified Husqvarna Viking Master Service Technician. In 2005, he gained his Restricted Electrical Licence and has also completed a number of other local training courses to further his skills.

Quickly repaired my overlocker after it was estimated to take 5 weeks, it only took a week. He seems to love what he does and knows his stuff. Only quibble would be that he would not apply the 12.5% seniors discount at payment stating that we had to ask for the discount up front. I will be using the Sewing Machine Doctor again. Recommend.

New to the sewing world, I bought my machine second hand (elna lotus) and I was sent to Stephen for a service and to tell me what was not functioning and he did an amazing job in the explanation about what was the problem and how he repaired it. Amazing service and great work!! Thank you Stephen, I will definitely recommend you! Okay, I am off to my new curtains...
