Services
A Quality Tourism Accredited business since 2016, the distinctive QTAB brandmark provides clients with an assurance that the tourism business has a proven commitment to the highest quality of service and business procedures. We have a detailed safety procedure manual in place which includes passenger briefings, emergency procedures, risk management and safety equipment.
Reef Encounters Fishing Charters aim to provide an enjoyable fishing experience while providing clients the opportunity of seeking iconic and trophy species such as Southern Bluefin Tuna and Samsonfish as well as deep water species rarely encountered in the shallower gulf waters of the state.

We can provide charter suggestions to best maximise your chances of chasing iconic game fish or to target species that provide a good mixed bag of table fish.We look after your fish during the day in a rainwater ice slurry until we reach the beach where we ask you to have your large eskies in your car packed with plenty of ice.
Reef Encounters operate in some of the best South Australian deep sea fishing hot spots with a great variety of fish to chase nearby. Additional marine charter services can be provided including wildlife monitoring services, island infrastructure survey, island transfers to Althorpe, Wedge and Neptune Islands and ocean monitoring equipment deployments.
Charter boat group accommodation is commonly booked for two nights, the night before the charter and the night of the charter. If you wish to extend your stay, the accommodation may be available to hire for extra nights depending on other bookings. One house is allocated per group so no share accommodation is required.
A standby / waiting list is available for groups and individuals that cannot meet minimum operating numbers and we will work to get you onboard with likeminded people. Also suitable for anyone that wants to register who wants to jump on last minute to fill spots.

Reef Encounters Fishing Charters reserve the right to cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions, in which case any monies paid will be repaid in full or with the option to transfer to another available date. All passengers must declare any pre-existing medical conditions or any medication prior to booking.

Thanks Reef Encounters for a fantastic day of fishing, Ryan and Jordan were really helpful and certainly knew how to get us on the fish, there were some huge fish landed and we were smoked by some others.
Highly recommended charter operator.

Contacted Reef Encounters to try and book in a fishing charter and they worked myself into a fishing charter.
Travelled to Kangaroo island via boat and managed to hook onto some large Tuna, Snook, Nannygai, Sweep, Blue Morwong and many more.
Crew did a fantastic job to accommodate all fisherman for the day.
Would highly recommend, I look forward to my next fishing charter with Reef Encounters.

The best day ever, Mark and deckhand was awesome. We had family from UK who has never caught a fish before and they both ended with a tuna and several other fish. We caught 7 tuna for the day.

I have fished many times with Reef Encounters over many years and brought many mates who inturn have been return customers also both with and with me. I can not stress enough the professionalism of Mark, and crew when out on the water. They go above and beyond to help you get onto quality fish of many species from table to sports fishing. Once your onto the fish they make your day fun by helping with your catch getting it in the boat and off the hook and end of the day if you want gilling and gutting your fish also.
The amazing support actually starts before your trip with even booking and organising

A great charter for a deep-sea fishing experience. The excellent skipper & deckhand ensure a fun day of fishing for a fisher of any skill level.
I caught a 12kilo Samson fish, my biggest fish by far.
