A boat for every occasion, allowing us to spend time in some of these remotest regions of WA where the fish bite the best. At the end of the 2005 crayfish season Bill and Chad Mills brought her into the fleet renaming her Blue Lightning III. And that's not the only change they have made to her from the cray fishing days.

The Abrolhos are in the stream of the Leeuwin Current which runs from North West Cape at Exmouth, south along the WA coast to Cape Leeuwin where it curls eastward along South Australia and flowing all the way to Tasmania. The current creates a meeting place for tropical and temperate marine life and is the southernmost place where true corals will be found in WA.

Unfortunately we weren’t lucky enough to be on board for a charter with Blue Lightning but instead we were on our own trip to the Monte Bello islands and had a mechanical issue very early in our trip (day one) and were stuck there with no boat for 6 days. Bill, Sharren and the Crew from Blue Lightning were absolutely amazing with the offer of any supplies needed, regular check ins to see how we were doing and lastly a safe tow at the end of their charter back to mainland and all without it interrupting the charter group that had paid for their trip of a lifetime. I was suprised to see there were only 4 Google reviews for this charter. Did the Montebello's charter 6 years ago with a group of mates - easily the best charter we have ever done. AWESOME fishing, great facilities, just a brilliant fishing trip all round - one I will never forgot. Nothing but positives to say about Chad, a great skipper, and how the whole trip was managed. Had an awesome trip with the crew at Blue Lightning at the Montebello Islands. Really hard working skipper and crew that made sure everyone had a great time and caught some epic fish. The setup was comfortable and I looked forward to the food everyday after a long days fishing. I’ll be back for sure.

Going to the Montebellos with the blue lightning crew is truly an amazing experience, not only do they ensure amazing fishing days as much as possible but you get the full experience around the islands such as squid, popping for GTs, and snorkeling, they don’t have set itineraries like others and they have lots of options for you and the crew… decide what you would like to experience, it really is your holiday when your with them! And being able to leave the boat and relax on the pontoon with a few drinks is a really unique and relaxing experience.

When people say blue lightning charters are the best well they really are second to none :)) If u want the most unbelievable charter go with these guys u won’t be disappointed. We had below average conditions… on our trip and chad made it his own to turn average conditions into some serious fishing action with sailfish wahoo mackerel tuna and reds to name a few, Once again thanks for an amazing trip and cannot wate to get back up there

These guys are second to absolutely no one!! The setup at the montebellos just keeps getting better! Chads knowledge of and around the islands always has you on the go with different options to make sure everyone gets the experience they want to make the trip as memorable as possible! Jakes an absolute machine that just keeps going all day! He’s… the first to rise and the last to bed day in day out! From offering friendly advice, landing fish, re rigging lines, cooking lunch to filleting all the fish, he just doesn’t stop! And to Leah and Pattie that make the trip feel like a

Myself and 7 mates have just returned from a week out at the Monte’s. It is still my most favorite place to fish. Chad and Leah are fantastic hosts and go above and beyond. Jake, the decky with the skills. Pattie and Bill keeping the wheels turning in the background. Could not speak more highly of these guys. We will be back again,
