Cumnock Village Pre-School
Two morning sessions were held each week. Cumnock Village Preschool owes its existence to the initiative, enthusiasm and organisational ability of the augural committeeand the first teacher/director, Janet Atkinson. Janet taught for a total of eight years and provided many children with a happy and rewarding time at preschool.

We believe in making preschool a wonderful experience for your child. During their time here they will form friendships, engage with interesting materials and equipment and learn skills that will encourage them to develop a love for learning. Our preschool is licenced to have 25 children a day. We operate Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30am to 4.00pm during school terms only.
Services
Policies provide a strong framework within which parents, staff and children are able to work and interact. Our policies guide the practices for the day to day running of the preschool. The preschool has a comprehensive set of policies which are kept on the premises and is available for you to read at any time.
Each day is planned to offer a variety of experiences and follows a time frame that provides structure to the child's day. This routine is displayed in the room and changes due to seasons of the year. It is of course flexible, dependent on the involvement of children at experiences or due to weather conditions.
Cumnock Village Preschool is run by an elected Management Committee. It is the responsibility of the committee to employ the Preschool staff and oversee the running of the organisation. Cumnock Village Preschool is government funded, but this funding does not fully cover the running costs of the Preschool.
For safety and security, ALL children must be signed in on arrival and signed out on departure. The time must also be noted. No child will be allowed to leave the Preschool with a person other than the parents or authorised persons stated on the enrolment form, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director.
Each child is required to bring a piece of fruit or fresh vegetable sticks for Morning Tea. We encourage children to eat fruit/vegetables first at morning tea before having anything else. Children need to bring a healthy lunch. A bottle of water for use throughout the day should also be brought along and placed into the drink trolley.
