Sapphire Coast Medical Practice has two Practices linked by the Internet. One is located at Church Street in Bega, the other is located at Bega Street, Tathra. Our Doctors practise at both locations. Our general hours of operation are from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (closed on NSW Public Holidays).
A translating service can be arranged for non-English speaking patients.

Services
As the Practice has grown, we have taken over more of the building, initially the former Sheriff's Office next door for Reception and waiting rooms, and then in 2013 the former Goose Cafe at the front, which allowed us to do a major refit of the whole Surgery. The Tathra Surgery opened in 1982. As the Practice expanded, we relocated first to a cottage in Pacific Street in 1987 and then to the current location at 78 Bega Street in 1996.
Two of our GP's with a special interest in the management of skin cancers hold monthly Skin Check Clinics at both the Bega and Tathra Surgeries. They will be held at Bega Surgery on Mondays and Fridays for one hour, and at Tathra Surgery on Tuesdays for one hour. Please contact our reception staff to book an appointment at one of the monthly clinics.
We hope to provide you the best possible medical service. Our Doctors are Vocationally Registered with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), and are all committed to ongoing medical self-education and the highest standards of medical care and confidentiality.
Consultations are by appointment only, and are usually taken every 15 minutes. If you are having any form of medical examination, have forms to be filled in, or feel a longer consultation is required, please advise our reception staff at the time of booking. Special times may be set aside for skin cancer checks, antenatal/postnatal checks, diabetic check-ups, repeat prescriptions, and urgent appointments.
Concession Card Holders will be asked to pay for the first consultation in each financial quarter ie. Our Doctors would prefer patients attend the Bulk-Billed Script Clinics which are held every day at both surgeries, whenever possible. These short appointments are for repeat prescriptions of current medications only and must be attended by the person seeking the script.
