Services
We are Jumbuck - one of Australia's largest sheep and cattle producers, with properties across Australia. We have a broad range of jobs for station workers, and a passion for supporting our staff to develop their careers within the pastoral industry. Established in 1888, the MacLachlan family begun growing wool at Paratoo Station, near Yunta, South Australia.
The temperatures are extreme, there's dust everywhere, it's isolating, there are flies, drought, fires, flooding and everything in between, and for many people, it's the best time of their lives. It's a different career path for a reason.
On Monday you could be mustering by helicopter, Wednesday you'll be on the motorbikes surveying the many watering points and assessing the welfare of the stock, and on Friday you could be on your way to a local Rodeo. It's exhilarating and although it can take sometime to adjust, the experiences, the friends and the skills you will have for life, make it all worthwhile.

Located 75km north of Yunta in the North East Pastoral region of South Australia, the Mount Victor station covers an area roughly the size of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mount Victor is comprised of three other leases. Bought in 1971 by H.G McLachlan, Glenorchy was also purchased. Morialpa was bought in 1996 and Plumbago in 2004 - making the Mount Victor Station of today.
Located 400km east of Kalgoorlie, WA, Rawlinna is known as Australia's largest operating sheep station - covering an area roughly the size of Sydney. Rawlinna has been developed by Jumbuck from infancy - since the previous Managing Director, H.G. MacLachlan first placed a survey peg in the ground during the 1960's.
Current employment opportunities vary, but a love of the Australian outback and its lifestyle, a sense of adventure, the reward that comes from overcoming a challenge and the ability to forge lifelong friendships are a must. Jumbuck is proud to be affiliated with The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and are recognised as a Duke of Edinburgh employer in Australia.
