Unfortunately this is incorrect. Black Ants are predominantly surface dwellers that you will regularly see around your house and garden, where termites are predominantly subterranean and spend most of their lives concealed under the ground or harbouring above the ground concealed within a timber tree stump or other timber elements.
Subterranean termites are particularly destructive insects causing at times major structural damage and in our region around Brisbane we have two of the most destructive species being, Schedorhinotermes intermedius and Coptotermes acinaciformas. Unfortunately termites are masters of concealment and have had millions of years refining this trait.
Over the years we have experienced homes that have incurred major structural damage however on the whole most of the attacks on homes and buildings are usually in the fairly early stages. These attacks are usually discovered by the home owner but in some cases we have found activity during inspections with the assistance of the types of inspection tools as shown below.
Black and Brown Ants are a very common household pest in and around Brisbane homes particularly during the summer months. A lot of information is available on the internet if you would like to learn more about ants but in our experience like termites, if the home owner is experiencing a problem they want them gone as quickly as possible.
Bees belong to a family of insects that provide a definite benefit to nature particularly with pollination programs. Bees can inflict a painful sting and some people experience an allergic reaction to them. Bees are not a common household pest however if you do have them swarming around the home a treatment is available.

It's been about 17 years now that Geoff has been taking care of our Pest Control. He's done annual inspections and termite barriers, and saved us from being overrun by ants. Over the years he's also taken care of our parents, friends and neighbours in the street. Makes me think of that old ad ... "when you're on a good thing ... stick to it!"

I called Geoff because we were concerned about Termites. He was in the area and dropped around free of charge to have a quick look and give us an initial idea of next steps. We hired Geoff to complete a full termite inspection on our property. He was extremely professional, informative and polite. Would highly recommend him.
