Services
Periodontal diseases affect most people to varying degrees throughout their lives. Common signs and symptoms include bleeding gums, a bad taste, bad breath, gum shrinkage and gaps widening between the teeth, food impaction, temperature sensitivity and loose teeth. Pain is not usually a feature until the very late stages of the diseases.
Sometimes periodontal surgery is required in areas that do not respond to initial root planing. Surgery generally involves gently lifting the gums to get better access to deep sites or hard to reach places such as furcations or root grooves. Most people don't require surgery and certainly not for the entire mouth.
Figure 1Titanium dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth. Suitability for this treatment can be assessed by your dental professional. Originally the patient had 2 root filled front teeth with failing restorations and root fracture on the right incisor. Treatment planned for 2 implants, in this case completed one at a time to preserve the soft tissue between the teeth.
In most cases the patients are referred to Applecross Periodontics by their dentist. Generally we work as a team with your referring dentist, but a referral by a dentist is not required for a visit to our office. We welcome referrals from patients and friends of the practice as well as self-referral patients.

I have been seeing Jane and her team for over a year and it has made such a massive difference not only in the health of my gums but in the confidence I have in smiling again. I am an extremely nervous patient but Jane and her team go above and beyond to make me feel at ease while explaining everything to me in a jargon free manner. I cannot recommend them enough. Highly recommend Jane and her team, it was my teenage son's first surgical experience, it went exactly as they said it would & everyone made him feel calm & relaxed throughout the whole experience. Our Orthodontist recommended Jane, even though it is an hour out of our area, we were told she is the only periodontist she personally recommends, Jane also provides excellent follow up care by offering her own mobile if you need to contact her. Overall, an excellent experience.

I first went to Applecross Periodontics with bleeding gums, and teeth that were loose and temperature sensitive. I can honestly say that I no longer have any of those problems. Jane and her staff deep cleaned my teeth and instructed me on what products to use and what procedures to follow to achieve and to maintain healthy gums. I know I will be forever grateful that I was able to save my teeth.
It is my opinion based on personal experience that the dental hygienists working here are the cream of the crop, completely thorough to a higher standard than normally expected.

I have been a patient of Applecross Periodontics for more than a decade (and counting). I have absolute confidence in the periodontal care as well as the hygienists' cleaning therapy. Their rates are definitely not cheap (some would even find it unaffordable), but I would rather get care from this clinic than anywhere else, despite not being on private care The clinic provides professional, respectful, excellent care.The entire team performs service to an exemplary standard.
