A grease trap is a tank built to trap solids from the kitchen drains while allowing the water portion to flow out into other waste tanks or straight to the trenches. The grease trap has the important job of containing the grease and solids which would otherwise begin to block the pipes and eventually destroy the trenches.
Avoid pouring your used cooking oil down the drain or grease trap. Drains do not have a waste management system and grease traps are expensive to clean - Disposing of your oil in the wrong way damages the environment and your plumbing - it is the main culprit for clogged pipes and sewage systems. We work with each of our clients to offer them the best possible solution for their used cooking oil storage and collection requirements.
Waste oil water separators are used to separate oil and water with the water being treated for discharge into sewers. Most machines operate by separating oil and water based on the principle of gravity displacement, utilising gravity plates, centrifugal force, floatation, hydrocyclone and other methods.
