Most great memories are associated with an experience, be it enjoying food around a table with your friends and family or a complete stranger. It might have been the time you got your hair braided on a holiday or when you went on your gap year and ate your way through Asia. When we encounter something different from our immediate world it can be exciting, it can be terrifying and it can be eye opening.
From the famous Italian precincts to the Greek dominated suburbs from the well known areas of Chinatown the lesser know ethnic suburbs of Footscray & Dandenong. Melbourne is often known as the melting pot of culture and food. We invite you to join us on a culinary and cultural experience of Melbourne.
Let our team help make your next team building, social club activity or corporate event an experience to remember. Talk to us about bringing the team together for a cook-off, this can be in-person or online and will be curated to menu preferences, spice-box deliveries and dietary requirements. A great way to get out of the office and explore the city, enjoy delicious food and learn about Melbourne's multicultural communities.
From iconic venues to cultural flavours, you can join our festivals and events all over Victoria. Festivals suggest fun and excitement, crowds of happy people, and total enjoyment for all. Our festivals bring together Melbourne's most amazing food trucks and market stalls, with flavours from around the world.
We teach you what our Mum's and grandmas taught us over the years and share stories of our backgrounds and give you lots of tips and tricks to fix it when you might stuff it up. Our classes are presented by regular people ( though some might work in hospitality). We have a selection of cuisines to choose from including Sri Lankan, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, East African and more.

Lovely day exploring the cultural culinary delights of Melbourne guided by Himanshi. Delicious food and plenty of intriguing information about some often overlooked gems in our city. Great to experience my own city as a tourist and find even more wonderful places to dine 😄

The Sri Lankan online cooking class with Masterchef contestant Dee Williams was great: in 80 minutes, we'd whipped up a delicious barramundi curry, spiced rice and fresh, zingy salad. Dee shared great tips about the timing of the meal prep, how to combine the various spices and how best to bring out each one's individual flavours. My hot tip: do your prep first using the supplied recipe notes, so you can keep an ear out for all Dee's expert advice. She sets a cracking pace, so there's dinner on the table in no time!

I did the African Foodie Tour and it was a very enriching and culturally informative experience. As we cannot travel overseas right now this satisfied my need for adventure and exploration. Himanshi was a lovely guide and I was introduced to food and flavours I had never experienced before. Thank you :)

Is there a more passionate and knowledgeable crew when it comes to Melbourne's global food scene than the Foodie Trails team? We don't think so. We've been fortunate enough to work with Himanshi and the team over the years with several events that they have run. Always professional and showcasing the most authentic and very best foodie experiences. It is always a pleasure to work with Foodie Trails.

We had an amazing afternoon with Del. Learned six dishes and then we all sat around the table to eat together. Can’t wait for the next class.

A thoroughly enjoyable tour that follows Australia's immigration story with the food that came with it. All the food was delicious and Himanshi was a lovely host.

Gastronomic Vietnamese Cooking Experience: My husband and I had an awesome night making delicious slow braised beef short ribs. Leanne was incredible, providing handy tips and techniques. The flavours had depth and richness. Other couples made authentic recipes such as Spring rolls, Crispy pancakes and nuoc mam dipping sauce. It was an unforgettable four course meal, complete with the obligatory rare beef pho. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
