We have an experienced team of arborists and ground crew, and all the equipment necessary for any situation. We approach every job looking to offer the highest level of service - at a competitive price - and to leave all of our customers satisfied. Should a decision be made to remove a tree, we can get it done safely, efficiently, and without damage to surrounding structures and vegetation, no matter how difficult it may appear.
Every tree that we prune is worked on in a manner that will produce the greatest benefits in terms of appearance, amenity and tree health & lifespan, and over the long term, the lowest ongoing maintenance costs.

We approach every job looking to offer the highest level of service - at a competitive price - and to leave all of our customers satisfied. A basic tenet of modern arboriculture is that you cannot prune a big tree into a small healthy one. Total foliage loss in a mature tree should ideally be less than 20% - pruning is generally an exercise in containment.

There are many other aspects to consider - for example limbs act as dampeners, reducing the impact on the tree from strong winds, and removing whole limbs will put stresses on a tree's structure that it has never encountered. Before and after images - Manchurian Pear (pyrus ussuriensis) canopy reduction in Torquay.

Although we would always rather prune, when necessary Greenscene can take on any removal task from straightforward felling to a careful dismantle around or over structure and gardens. We specialise in difficult confined area removals where our advanced rigging techniques allow us to safely remove the largest of trees.
We can install root barriers on building sites and around existing structures to protect them from the damage adventitious roots can cause, whether as a pro-active measure, or where specified by an building engineer. Each situation needs to be asessed on its merits with respect to the species being retained, its size and likely scope of its root zone, permit requirements, and the nature of the site.
More often than not, your trees are a valuable asset, but should they require regular or, in particular, heavy pruning, for example to protect surrounding structures or appease concerned neighbours, it is worth considering the long term costs of retention. Removing a tree and planting a species more suited to the available space is sometimes the best option.
