At Thomas & Mackay we are committed to providing you with a comprehensive eye examination using state of the art equipment. This approach ensures we always carry out a thorough investigation of your vision, assess your eye muscle coordination, examine your eyes for possible health problems and offer advice on any specific occupational or recreational needs.
Today almost anyone can enjoy the freedom of wearing contact lenses. If you are currently a contact lens wearer or would like to try wearing them our optometrists can help you decide which lens best suits your needs and budget. Orthokeratology: the revolutionary new treatment that allows you to see clearly even when the contact lenses have been removed.
As part of your comprehensive eye examination at Thomas & Mackay, our optometrist may recommend a visual field test. Its most common application is on people with a higher risk of developing glaucoma but can detect visual field defects from other causes. This test can be performed at each of our 3 locations; Norwood, Aldgate & Goolwa, and is usually payable by medicare.
During your comprehensive eye examination with Thomas & Mackay your optometrist may discuss corneal topography. This is most likely to occur in the course of fitting contact lenses particularly Orthokeratology (Ortho-k). Its powerful analysis software is used in the detection and monitoring of all corneal disease.

We were very impressed with the service we received at Thomas & Mackay in Norwood. Our Optometrist Esther was amazing with my son who is on the Autism Spectrum and needed to have his his eyes tested for the first time.
I highly recommend the team. They did a great job and we are very happy with the glasses they helped us choose.
