Wilders Bakery is a historical landmark right in the middle of the beautiful town of Young in NSW. Young is also known as the Cherry Capital of Australia, so it's no surprise our famous local produce is the star in our signature cherry pie. If you find yourself in Young in December, make sure to visit us during the annual cherry festival (and maybe even participate in our pie eating competition!)
Wilders Bakery has been a landmark in Young since 1950, when Olga and Milty Wilder opened the bakery at 207 Boorowa Street. Our business has been built on hard work, the love of baking and simply having a go - values we still hold dear! Olga and Milty were enthusiastic newlyweds when they started Wilders Bakery, keen to kick start their life and business together.
Dear Wendy, please pass on to your team our thanks for the fantastic job on the wedding cake last Saturday. It looked absolutely amazing and we were thrilled with the intricate detail on the cupcakes in boxes. Everyone at the reception was very impressed. The second Saturday of each month I have shopped at the Hawkesbury Harvest Farmers and Fine Foods market at Castle Hill.
For over 60 years, we have been making fresh and delicious products in our own bakery on Boorowa Street in Young. What started with a basic selection of breads & pastries has over time developed into a huge selection of sweet and savoury delights. We have lots of trusted favourites and we regularly add new choices.

I visited this bakery for a second time recently while staying with a good friend in the area, the first visit was enjoyable but this second visit has inspired me to leave a review. I had the most amazing piece of cheesecake ever!
It was called 'Caramel cheesecake', but that simply does not do it justice. It had a beautiful traditional crumb base (approx .5cm), then a decadent layer of gooey caramel like from a caramel slice (a bit over 1cm) and finished with a divinely creamy cheesecake topping (approx 6 or 7 cm). The caramel layer on the outer edge had gone to toffee in the cooking and created

Good pies and pasties. Good coffee. This atmospheric Cafe is a gem. Take your coffee upstairs in comfy armchairs, relax on the verandah which overlooks the main street or downstairs to watch the passersby. Eating in has table service. There's a play area for kids upstairs so families can have a meal or coffee and the kids can play. Excellent selection of cakes to eat in or take away. Don't miss eating here when you visit Young.

Had the chicken Vol au vent. Pleasant, with lovely flaky pastry. The highlight for me was the tiny cherry pie with a star pastry on top. Short pastry rolled very thin, so the cherries were the highlight rather than a large chunk of pastry. Really lovely. Will be returning! Recommend having your meal upstairs…There’s a surprisingly elegant ‘dining room’, heritage style.

Wilders Bakery is located in Young, New South Wales on Boorawah street. The town is the cherry capital of Australia. The bakery has a great selection of fresh meat pies and sausage rolls and tarts and slices as well as cakes and donuts, breads and rolls and the best cherry pie. Also available is a range of sandwiches and hot food and drinks.
