Dura-Wear Industries has been trading for over 45 years, specialising in garment design, manufacture, import, wholesale and retail operations. We are a national supplier with a broad range of clients, from small businesses with only a handful of staff through to large multinationals. We employ over 30 staff across 6 sites in Victoria and NSW.
Established in Melbourne in 1974, we are an industry leader in providing uniform solutions across a broad range of industries. From humble beginnings in local garment manufacturing we now service thousands of customers Australia-wide. Whether you require a stock service option or a complete custom garment range, we can provide a uniform solution to meet your business requirements.
We've put together a list of brands for the healthcare and related industries including polos, cotton blend shirts, easy care shirts, easy care suiting, knitwear and pharmacy jackets. You'll find brands that stock the garments best suited to you below. Please note that we stock many brands so this is just a quick snap shot to help you begin your search.
Embroidery is the branding method of using needles and threads to create text and logos on garments. An embroidery is easy to set up! All we need is a clear image of your logo (such as a JPEG or PDF). We then have this image digitised into an embroidery file. Once that is done the file would be transferred to the embroidery machine which would then proceed to stitch your logo directly onto the garment (usually up to 8 garments at a time).
Using a vector file of your logo, a film negative is created per colour, per logo size. These film negatives are then used to make the screens (think of a small wire mesh window which the ink will transfer through). By using the screens ink will be brushed over them to create the design. Once the screen print has been put onto the garment it is then put through a special oven which cures the ink to make sure that it lasts a long time.

Referring to itself as Australia's 'premier chef and hospitality store', Dura Wear's Northcote outpost may not be glamorous or adhere to the cutesy aesthetic of many of Melbourne's cookery shops but what it does it does incredibly well.

Selling a frankly intimidating range of kitchen gear catering to everyone from amateur cooks to professional chefs, Dura-Wear sells everything from icing tools to cook books, industrial workwear to specialist knives and anything and everything culinary in between.

As I said, Dura-Wear is not the kind of glam, modern cookery shop that

With so many Kmarts, Ikeas, $2 shops and junk kitchen stores about it can very hard indeed to find quality kitchen ware without buying from an expensive gourmet kitchen store. Dura -Wear Industries has been supplying kitchen ware and unforms for professional chefs since 1986, and now they have one of their two showrooms/shops open to the public on High Street in Northcote.

At Dura-Wear Industries showroom you can get a range of top quality kitchen utensils at competitive prices. They also have a range of more specialized cooking tools such as spirooli's, mandolin slicers and sashimi knives
