Our community-based preschool is a warm, welcoming, inspiring learning environment for children 3 to 5 years. We provide high levels of care and play for up to 40 children per day. We are open during school terms with Preschool hours 8:00am to 3:30pm (extended care until 4pm if needed) - now taking enrolments for 2021.

We've helped make a lot of happy memories here for children and families over the years. Since 1975 Lyrebird Preschool has seen three generations of locals enrolled from a number of communities in and around Nowra. We are lucky to have a fantastic facility, great history, exceptional team and amazing parents who help make us special.
Lyrebird Preschool is set up as a fun place to be and a great choice as a learning environment. We are a not-for-profit, community-based preschool where all your fees are used to benefit the children enrolled here. This means we're lean on administrative staff and overheads, and rely a great deal on our parents to volunteer their time and talents to help keep us first-rate.
We have a loyal, dedicated team of educators and support staff here at Lyrebird Preschool. Many have been with us for years while others are gaining valuable work-experience or qualifications from training facilities to take up a future in Early Childhood Education. Our average 1:6 educator to children ratio is well-above the norm (or requirement) for pre-school facilities.
Like the song says, we truly are 'a home among the gum trees.' just without the sheep or two but the kangaroos have been known to visit! Lyrebird Preschool is located at 101 Jervis Street, East Nowra, set on shady, landscaped and well-equipped 2080m2 grounds with security fencing all around. We overlook the sporting fields and Lyrebird Park, with easy access from Kalandar Street.
This is a good introduction to Lyrebird Preschool for prospective students as well as families who have children enrolled here. Keep a copy handy for reference as it includes. Healthy eating is an important part of childhood development. We want to give as much help and support as possible to families about nutrition, food and snacks.
