There is no need to go to Court. A legally binding agreement can be achieved without anyone going to Court. They are called Consent Orders and can be used for asset divisions and parenting arrangements. It is vital that an agreement be correctly recorded in Consent Orders to protect against a future claim.

Gordon Lawyers will recommend the next step, but the action taken after the first appointment (if any) is up to you. All lawyers must keep their client's affairs confidential, but at Gordon Lawyers extra measures are in place. See below for more. Your appointment will be with David Gordon, solicitor, who is accredited by the NSW Law Society as a specialist in Family Law.
Some lawyers are shy about their fees. At Gordon Lawyers we take the view that it is vital to be upfront and transparent about the charges. Gordon Lawyers strive to provide value and reduce each client's legal costs while maintaining the high quality service and advice that Gordon Lawyers has become known for.
A solicitor does most of he work in a family law case, and sometimes calls on a barrister for assistance if needed. The difference is the type of legal work they chose to do. Barristers normally specialise in advocacy or Court work. This means they are usually (but not always) the one who stands in front of a judge to present the client's case.
