Golden Triangle Antiques is located in Brisbane, in the Sunny state of Queensland, Australia, "beautiful one day, perfect the next", maybe climate change is changing this! Our interest in Buddha statues and all things Chinese and Asian started nearly fifty years ago whilst residing in Singapore. Since then we have resided in China, Indonesia, Borneo, Libya, Malaysia and England.
Burmese Wood Carvings Myanmar Handicrafts - Wood carvers of Myanmar (Burma) are masters in the art of wood carving, they are intricate and usually three dimensional. In Myanmar the oldest known remaining examples of wood carving date to the 11th century in Nagayon, Bagan. What exists there tells of a much greater lineage of craftsmanship that has since disappeared.
Ancient Chinese Neolithic Vessels and various artifacts such as bronze objects, stone artifacts, jade objects, jewellery, terracotta tripod Gui cooking vessels and funerary objects such as these have been excavated in many parts of China. There are over 51,000 archaeological sites dating from early Neolithic to early Iron age (8000-500 BC) which show that China was culturally vibrant from these early times.
Chinese Han Dynasty Pottery - mingqi funerary objects were used in rituals which involved placing miniature or life size objects that were used, eaten, enjoyed or represented the importance of a person or animal to the departed soul whilst still alive. These objects accompanied him or her into the burial chamber to bring comfort and familiarity on their journey into the afterlife.
