Services
Organature was founded by Peter and Maureen Byl in 2004. They had previously worked for many years in a family business, manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing bed linen, bedding and curtains. In 1993 Peter was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Testing showed the predominant cause of his illness to be the out-gassing of chemicals from the fabric used in the workplace and the overall work environment.
For those of our many loyal customers who live with multiple chemical sensitivity, life does tend to throw up difficult decisions when it comes to maintaining, restoring or purchasing new furniture and furnishings for the home. We recently went through yet another small drama when we were considering retiring our trusty and old faithful Flokati.
Peter, our founder, suffered severely from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) and Organature was born out of a need to alleviate his symptoms, so we only work with products that are safe for his use and with those he has fully researched and tested. We go to enormous lengths to provide you with a genuinely cleaner, healthier, chemical free product.
We will only use cotton that has Organic Certification under GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards), is grown from non-modified seeds, with no harmful chemicals used to grow and process the cotton. Unfortunately, Australian grown cotton does not meet any of these requirements.
ORGANIC CLOTHING AUSTRALIA: Most of our garments are specially imported by Organature into Australia from a certified producer of sustainable textile products in the EU, certified by Control Union.Some are made in our own sewing rooms in Australia. Here you'll find T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Leisure Jackets and Hoodies, as well as novelty printed garments for the children.

So grateful this business exists for so many of our family’s needs, recently for my birthday all I wanted was a natural/toxin free dressing gown and it arrived quickly and was beautifully soft and cosy and no need to wash first since there is absolutely no chemicals or even synthetic fragrances worn in the whole process. I few years ago I bought one sheet set and doona cover to try. I loved it so much its the only place I go to for my bedding now because of the consistent quality and comfort (so soft!). For years, I've held off on getting a body pillow as all the ones I found had synthetic filling, which I knew would make for an uncomfortable, sweaty sleep. So when I found Organature's 100% cotton pillows I knew I had to give it a try. I'm happy to report that I have had numerous luxurious sleeps using the body pillow and have had no issues with sweating despite a recent heatwave with temperatures in excess of 38°c. I 100% recommend!

Great products, good communication from staff. I ordered some organic cotton bed sheets on their website, they are super comfortable, beautiful, top quality and affordable. I love that they put so much effort into making sure the sheets are not contaminated by chemicals in any way. I highly recommend them!
